The new Beats.Mind.Movement season is about to start!!!

Monday & Tuesday evenings, 6pm-9pm, starting Nov 24, are in-studio sessions (@ UrbanArts, 19 John st. by Lawrence & Weston).
Wednesday evenings, 6pm-9pm, starting Nov. 26 are at FYI (by Keele & Rogers, right next to George Harvey C.I.)

The session runs for 12 weeks.

Meet the Summer Intensive Program Producers!

The producers - the folks in charge of making all our beats - have been keeping a low profile, slaving away at the computers in the Urban Arts studio all summer to make the ProFresh jams we love!

So it's time they're exposed! Here's our hitmakers:
Andy Juma - Andy's been in the studio crankin' out his signature sound: southern-style 808 drums with smooth basslines and chill synths. Check the CD for his killer track, "Magic", a slowjam sung by Usman aka Blitz and Jason Julien, with a feature from our own Lil Miss!










Esau Moncada - A talented multi-instrumentalist, the mexican-born producer, Esau, does it all. His skills range from producing Electronic and down-tempo instrumentals to composing commercial jingles and everything in between. Having never had the chance to work on a hip hop project before this summer, Esau was hyped to collaborate with the ProFresh vocalists to see what kind of sound they could come up with. When the album drops, check out tracks "Bus Candy" and "Party Poppers", Esau's hot beats!


Kristi Sallaku - Kristi's been crankin out hot beats from the Urban Arts studio all summer.
From smooth piano ballads to Poppy dance tracks, Kristi's collab's with the ProFresh vocalist crew are hot fire. Legend has it, he can also sing opera...maybe he'll bust it out at the ProFresh release party??

Word Up from Usman, a BMM singer!

Hey guys,

What's up? Where should i start? hrmmm...well, i just recorded one of the ProFresh tracks today. Looking good! The sounds and the lyrics are truly FRESH, and i can't wait for the release. BMM is a great place to meet new people and i'm having a blast. We all bring something new to the table. Mike and Tosha are great and everythings coming together. The photo shoot is just around the corner and i'm psyched about that! The photos are going to look CRAZY...lemonade anyone?

HI WORLD!!!
my name is Abel and i love BMM and i love Tasha everyone here is so great, im learning how to produce and a bunch of other super dandy things. I love it so much, they teach us how to improve our songs and how to express our selves through music! I made a whole bunch of great freinds and horrible enemies (Micheal).... jussss kiddin MIKE hehe........... I feel so at home in the BMM enviroment. A huge thing i learnd so far is that success is a choice..and Micheal is weird.. LOL JUS KIDDIN MIKEE HAHA... and this is only the start!!!!!

Word Up from Jason Julien, a BMM Singer!

Whats up everyone, this is Jason Julien, a member of Beats.Mind.Movement. I'm an R&b/Soul, and Neo-Soul artist and I have a very soulful voice. I've been writing songs since early 2004. First they were poems but then I started to structure them into songs. I don't remember what age I started singing at but I was young, like about 5 years old, like little catchy songs and commercials that I'd sing under my breath.
I really started taking singing seriously when my best friend heard me singing in the shower and brought me to her cousin who was a local producer. I'm so happy to be apart of this program, it's a mix of singers, rappers, producers, and marketers. I have started to write songs with other members of the program, and they're coming up great. I'm learning alot of new things at this program like new vocal exersises and mic technques. So far I'm really impressed with the progress of this program!

Welcome to the Beats.Mind.Movement blog :)
For the next few months, we'll be showcasing our newest project, ProFresh, a group of young musicians who've come together to produce an urban album of hot jams!
